The buildings of the Uman correctional colony, which were put up for privatisation, were sold at an auction 194 times more expensive than the starting price. This was announced by the head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

The starting price of the buildings was UAH 149.4 thousand, and the final price was UAH 29 million.

The Ministry of Justice is currently transferring unused penitentiary institutions to the SPFU for sale. The lot of the Uman correctional colony consisted of a complex of non-residential buildings and structures with a total area of 3143.5 sq m. In particular, it includes a training and production building with a basement of the former penal colony and a 60-hectare land plot under the buildings.

“This successful example once again shows that today the market itself regulates the value of objects. And the statement that “privatisation is not relevant during the war” is a myth. Today it is not time to generate losses for the state,”
