The boom of Chinese electric cars in Ukraine: the most popular models

The Ukrainian car market is showing a rapid growth in interest in Chinese cars. As of November, 3908 passenger cars imported from China were registered in Ukraine, which is 4.8 times more than in the same period last year. This is evidenced by the data of Ukravtoprom, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

New and used cars: how the market structure has changed

Of the total number of Chinese cars:

  • 3269 cars are new (368% year-on-year);
  • 639 cars – used (415%).

Thus, the main growth was provided by new cars, which indicates the growth of Ukrainians’ confidence in brands from China.

93% – electric cars: why Chinese cars have become popular

The vast majority of passenger cars from China are electric vehicles. Their share in November amounted to 93% of all registrations.

Experts explain this trend by several factors:

  • competitive price compared to European and American EVs;
  • modern technologies and equipment;
  • a wide range of models;
  • government and customs incentives for electric vehicles.

The most popular new Chinese cars in Ukraine

In November, the following models were in the greatest demand among new cars of Chinese origin:

  • BYD Leopard 3 – 385 cars
  • Volkswagen ID.Unyx – 298
  • BYD Song Plus – 289
  • Zeekr 7X – 221
  • BYD Sea Lion 06 – 220

It was the BYD brand that became the leader of the month in the Ukrainian new car market.

Top 5 used cars from China

Among the used cars imported from China, Ukrainians most often registered:

  • Zeekr 001 – 87 cars
  • Zeekr 7X – 41 cars
  • MG ZS – 32
  • BYD Leopard 3 – 30
  • BYD Yuan Plus – 29

The demand for premium Zeekr electric models confirms the shift in consumer interest towards technological EV segments.

Record month for electric vehicles in Ukraine

November 2025 was a landmark month for the Ukrainian electric vehicle market. For the first time ever, monthly sales of new electric vehicles exceeded 3000 units.

In total, Ukrainians purchased about 8.3 thousand new passenger cars in November, and Chinese brands accounted for a significant portion of this growth.
