Butusov: Nayev is sent to the post of tactical group commander after a year without a full-time position

Journalist Yuriy Butusov said that Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev received a combat order to go to the post of commander of the Velyka Novosilka tactical group.

This was reported by the sources of the Censor.Net publication, Yuriy Butusov writes , "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to Butusov, now the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has given Nayev a new appointment.

Butusov attributed this to a recent interview with Nayev, in which he criticized, among other things, the trials of former AFU commanders.

According to the journalist, after receiving a combat order, Nayev said that it could not be immediately executed, as the position of tactical group commander is freelance and to be appointed to this position, one must have a full-time position in the Armed Forces.

“Zelensky did not know about this, and everyone was in such a hurry to fulfill his emotional command that no one paid attention to the details. Now the Ministry of Defense and the Presidential Office are looking for a position to give Nayev to send him to the tactical group,” Butusov wrote.

So far, neither the Presidential Office nor the military command has commented on this information.

As a reminder, in February 2024, Serhiy Nayev said that he had learned from the media that he had been dismissed from the post of Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which he had held since 2020. Since then, the general has been at the disposal of the Minister of Defense, without a full-time position in the army.

In an interview with Ukrayinska Pravda, Serhiy Nayev said that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the actions taken in a short time were initiatives, independent decisions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and other commanders.

According to Nayev, it was necessary to make a decision in advance to use the Armed Forces (i.e., to give the command to military leaders to openly start preparing and implementing the planned activities), to introduce the legal regime of martial law, and to increase the number of troops through mobilization.

Nayev also called trials of military leaders during the war “unacceptable”.
