They hit with missiles and drones: Air Force reveals details of Russia’s night attack

On the night of 6 August 2024, Russian invaders launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. This was stated by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The enemy used four Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles fired from the Voronezh region of Russia, two X-59 guided missiles launched from the airspace over the Sea of Azov, and 16 Shahed attack drones arriving from Cape Chauda (Crimea) and Kursk (Russia).
The air attack was repelled by mobile firing groups of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, anti-aircraft missile troops and airborne electronic warfare units of the Air Force. As a result of the air battle, two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles, two X-59 guided missiles and 15 attack UAVs were shot down in Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv and Khmelnytskyi regions.
In Mykolaiv region, 13 Shahed-136/131 UAVs were destroyed. The enemy attacked the Ochakivska and Koblivska communities at around 02:55. As a result of the fighting and falling debris, three fires broke out in open areas, which were promptly extinguished by firefighters.
In addition, three private households were damaged in the Ochakivska community, and in the Koblivska community, the debris fell outside the recreation centre, damaging the windows of the utility room and the building of the recreation centre. There were no casualties.
In Khmelnytsky region, 3 Shahed UAVs were shot down. As of 8am, there is no information on damage to critical infrastructure or civilian casualties.
On the night of 6 August, Russia attacked Kyiv. A missile attack was launched in the direction of the capital and its suburbs. Air defence forces shot down all enemy targets.
The head of the Kyiv air defence force, Ruslan Kravchenko, said that there were no hits to residential or critical infrastructure. There were no casualties.
Kravchenko noted that operational teams are working at the sites where the wreckage of the downed enemy targets fell.
Thus, as of 8am on 6 August, an apartment building, two petrol stations and a multi-storey building with office premises were damaged.
The blast wave also damaged a forester’s house.
There were no fires at the sites where the debris fell.
