Drone attack causes fire at oil refinery in Sloviansk-on-Kuban

On the night of December 17, Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Sloviansk-on-Kuban in the Krasnodar Territory of Russia, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing Russian propaganda media.
“Two people were injured and at least 5 private houses were damaged as a result of the fall of the UAV debris. The wounded were hospitalized and are being provided with all necessary medical care,” the report said.
Local residents said the attack began after midnight and lasted at least three hours in a row. In total, about 18 explosions were heard over the city. After that, a fire broke out in one of the districts. According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova, the fire was recorded on the territory of a local oil refinery. Prior to that, Sloviansk refinery was attacked by Ukrainian drones twice this year – on August 13 and November 30. The enterprise is owned by Slaviansk ECO and has a capacity of 5.2 million tons per year.
In addition to Sloviansk-on-Kuban, Saratov and Engels in the Saratov region were also attacked by drones last night. At least 10 explosions were heard over the nearby cities. There is no official information on casualties or damage. on December 13, Ukrainian troops attacked the Saratov oil refinery with drones. As a result of the raid, one of the drones hit a residential high-rise building, killing two people. The Saratov refinery was hit by the Ukrainian armed forces six times in the fall alone, and has suffered nine attacks since the beginning of the year. The enterprise belongs to Rosneft and processes 5.8 million tons of oil per year.
Also on the night of December 17, the suburb of Yeysk, Krasnodar Krai, was attacked. According to local residents, there were at least three explosions. There was no official information about the attack. The Yeysk seaport operates a complex for transshipment of fuel oil, as well as light and dark oil products.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry’s report, over the past night, air defense forces “intercepted and destroyed” 94 Ukrainian drones. Of these, 31 were over the Krasnodar Territory, 22 over Rostov, 10 over Voronezh, 8 over Saratov, 4 over Volgograd and 3 over Bryansk. Also, 8 drones were shot down over the Azov and Black Seas.
