Energy consumption in Ukraine has increased due to the cold snap. Ukrenergo urged to save energy

This morning, there was a significant increase in electricity consumption compared to yesterday. This was reported by Ukrenergo, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Thus, at 9:50 a.m. today, consumption was 9.4% higher than at the same time yesterday.
The increase in electricity consumption came amid a cold snap and reports of thunderstorms in a number of regions.
At this time yesterday, Poland was urgently buying surplus Ukrainian electricity even in emergency mode.
During the daytime yesterday, due to the active operation of renewable energy sources (RES), the power system also had an excess of electricity. Therefore, from 10:40 a.m. to 4:05 p.m., renewables even had to be shut down.
Due to thunderstorms and wind, 53 settlements in Zhytomyr, Sumy and Chernihiv regions lost power in the morning. For other reasons, 419 settlements were cut off in the morning. New power outages have been reported in Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions due to the fighting.
Consumption restrictions are in place throughout the day in Kharkiv region, where about 102,000 household consumers were cut off in the morning. Industrial consumption in Kryvyi Rih is also restricted around the clock.
For the evening, Ukrenergo has planned to import electricity from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova in the total volume of 7,395 MWh and with a maximum capacity of up to 1,668 MW in some hours.
Ukrenergo urged to conserve electricity from 19:00 to 22:00.
