Two hydroelectric power stations decommissioned due to Russian shelling

Following yesterday’s Russian attack on energy facilities, two hydroelectric power plants have been taken out of operation. This was reported today by Ukrhydroenergo, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“On 8 May, during the morning shelling of critical infrastructure, hydropower facilities were heavily damaged. The enemy continues to massively attack and destroy Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, inflicting devastating targeted strikes. As of today, all hydropower generation has suffered devastating damage,”
– the company said.
It noted that repairing and restoring the destroyed equipment would require considerable effort and money and called on the international community to help.
Ukrhydroenergo did not say which hydroelectric power plants were out of action, but it is known that yesterday the enemy attacked power generation and transmission facilities in Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions.
