Thousands of consumers left without power due to enemy attack
10 January 12:15
On the night of January 10, Russian troops again struck Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. As a result of the attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region, more than 130,000 consumers were left without power.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Ministry of Energy.
Work is continuing in Kyiv and the Kyiv region to restore a stable power supply after the previous shelling. Within 24 hours, energy workers managed to restore power to more than 350,000 consumers in the capital. At the same time, about 10,000 subscribers in the Kyiv region, mainly in the Brovarsky district, are still without electricity.
Due to damage to the networks on the left bank of Kyiv and in some areas of the Kyiv region, emergency power cuts have been introduced. On the right bank of the capital, hourly power cuts are in effect.
Consumers in the frontline and border regions of the country remain without power for a long time. The situation is most difficult there, as restoration work is complicated by ongoing hostilities.
Most regions of Ukraine are currently subject to forced restrictions on electricity supply — hourly power outage schedules for the population and power restrictions for industry. Consumers are advised to check the official resources of distribution system operators in their regions for up-to-date information.
Emergency repair work is continuing around the clock. Energy workers are working non-stop to stabilize the power system as quickly as possible and restore power to Ukrainian homes.
