The Chornomorka restaurant chain is expanding its international presence, with two new locations scheduled to open in Europe by the end of 2025. This was announced by the owner of the chain Olga Kopylova in a commentary to Forbes Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

By the end of 2025, the company will open two new establishments in the Hungarian capital Budapest and Vilnius (Lithuania).

According to her, the choice of these cities is related to logistical advantages – the new locations are located near the chain’s existing restaurants in Europe, which simplifies the supply of seafood from fishermen and oyster farms.

Details of the opening:

  • The 363-square-meter restaurant in Vilnius is scheduled to open in August 2025.
  • The restaurant in Budapest (300 square meters) will open in the fall of 2025.

Both restaurants will be owned, not franchised, Kopylova said. Investments in the projects are currently being formed.

The Chornomorka chain was founded in 2016. Before the full-scale invasion, it operated exclusively in Ukraine. After 2022, the company began to enter foreign markets.

At the beginning of 2025, Chornomorka had 38 establishments:

  • in Ukraine (12 cities),
  • slovakia, Poland, and Austria,
  • some restaurants and budget formats in Moldova.

The company is also developing related areas: in January 2025, it invested €100,000 to launch a network of oyster vending machines and open its own fish shops in residential complexes in Kyiv.

Forbes estimated the chain’s annual revenue at over UAH 500 million as of 2023.
