CNN has suggested that Volodymyr Zelenskyy may visit Alaska on August 15, where the summit between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will take place. The Russian dictator has repeatedly stated his readiness to meet with the Ukrainian president. The White House is currently discussing the possibility of inviting the Ukrainian president to the largest US state. According to The New York Times, Trump will first meet with Putin and then with Zelenskyy.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

The White House is discussing the possibility of inviting Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Alaska, where the Russian and US presidents will meet on August 15, NBC News reports, citing informed sources.

A senior White House official said that Zelenskiy’s appearance is “absolutely” possible.

But it is not yet clear whether he will eventually come to Alaska.

“Everyone is very hopeful that this will happen,” he emphasized.

According to the TV channel, US President Donald Trump “remains open to a trilateral summit with both leaders [Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin]. But now the White House is focused on planning a bilateral meeting with the Russian president. The parties will focus on discussing options for a long-term settlement of the war in Ukraine.

However, the day before, The Washington Post wrote about something else. According to the newspaper, the head of the White House did not invite Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Alaska.

According to Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, US special envoy Steven Whitkoff mentioned in the Kremlin the possibility of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump, and Zelensky. But the Russian side left this without comment, suggesting that they focus on preparing for a bilateral summit.

Meanwhile, CNN has revealed that Zelenskyy is likely to be in Alaska on August 15. According to the TV channel, the president may attend some meetings.

“One White House official emphasized that any meetings involving Zelenskyy would likely take place after the Trump-Putin meeting,” the article says.

The New York Times has learned that Trump’s plan is to meet with Putin first.

“And shortly afterward, he plans to meet with Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy <...> without the participation of European counterparts,” the publication says.

At the same time, the American leader himself recently confirmed that a meeting with Putin and Zelensky is possible, and the latter will have to “sign something.”

“Now President Zelensky should get… Whatever he needs, because he’s going to have to be willing to sign something, and I think he’s working hard to get there,” Trump said.

The White House chief emphasized that an option is being considered whereby the Ukrainian leader will have to accept the loss of Ukrainian territories. But Zelenskyy refused.
