In Ukraine, the number of the number of patients with COVID-19 continues to grow last month alone, almost 12,000 cases of coronavirus were recorded across the country, compared to 2,000 in June.

However, there are currently no plans to introduce a mask regime or other anti-epidemic measures, at least in the capital. This was reported in response to a request from [Kommersant] was reported in response to a request from the Executive Office of the Kyiv City Council.

They explained that anti-epidemic measures in Kyiv are being implemented by the Standing Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies, based on recommendations provided by the Kyiv City Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

“At present, no recommendations have been received from the Kyiv City Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and accordingly, no decisions have been made by the Standing Committee on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergency Situations to introduce a mask regime or other anti-epidemic measures in connection with the increase in the incidence of COVID-19,” the Kyiv City Council’s executive body said.

Nevertheless, according to the Department of Health, the incidence of COVID-19 is currently increasing in the capital, and the number of hospitalised people is growing, including patients requiring mechanical ventilation.

“In this regard, doctors recommend being conscious about your health and epidemic safety, avoiding crowded places and contact with people with cold symptoms, keeping a distance in crowded places, etc. If you feel unwell, stay at home and, if necessary, contact your family doctor. After all, minor symptoms (headache, runny nose, sore throat) can be symptoms of COVID,” the Kyiv City Council Executive Office said.

As reported earlier, doctors do not rule out a new round in the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is likely that over time, the coronavirus may simply turn into another respiratory virus. At the same time, Mykhailo Rosada, Director General of the Public Health Centre, has already called for Ukrainians to be vaccinated against COVID-19 during the national telethon “United News”.
