After the law on mobilisation was signed by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to which all persons liable for military service must update their credentials within 60 days through a military registration and enlistment office, an administrative centre or an electronic conscript’s office, there have been many more people willing to do so. Read more "Komersant Ukrainian" was told about this by one of the capital’s CCCs.

What are the queues at the recruitment centres?

“On average, about 200 people come to one office per day. We try to see everyone through without queues, to distribute them properly, but sometimes people need to wait to get to the shopping mall. It’s hard to guess at what time to come,”

– one of the Kyiv TACs told journalists.

They stressed that after the President signed the law on mobilisation, more people started coming to update their data for the first time.

It is not only in Kyiv that there are queues at the centres – in Poltava, men also have to wait to get to the Territorial Recruitment Centre.

However, according to Roman Istomin, a spokesperson for the Poltava Regional Military Recruitment Centre and the JV, the queues at the recruitment centre are not just about updating data. The overwhelming majority of Poltava residents waiting in line are employees of companies that make reservations.

Recently, a post by military volunteer Yulia Bartle stirred up the network, saying that her son had come to the recruitment centre for the third time to update his military registration, but was unable to do so because of the queues. They say that the reception at the centre was only from 9:00 to 13:00, and during this time, everyone who wants to get there does not have time to get there.

Response from the Land Forces Command

The Land Forces Command promptly responded to the situation with the queues at the MCC and JFO.

“There is a lot of information about the queues at the TCC. It’s good that a large number of people have decided to update their data or register. But we want to inform you: the territorial recruitment centres (TCCs) are open 24/7. You can come at any time convenient for you,”

– the Land Forces report.

To journalists "Komersant Ukrainian" journalists in the capital’s recruitment centres also confirmed the information about the round-the-clock reception of citizens.

What awaits those liable for military service after the data is clarified in the CMC

Every person liable for military service must undergo a medical examination after the data has been clarified at the CMC, said Roman Istomin, a spokesman for the Poltava CMC and JV.

According to him, starting from 18 May, after the new law on mobilisation comes into force, persons liable for military service must come to the CMC to clarify their data. After that, they will definitely be sent to the CMC, even if they are granted a deferral.

As for updating personal data through an electronic account or an ASC, this is only the initial stage.

“No one has ruled out the obligation to undergo a medical examination. After receiving such information (from the electronic cabinet or ASC – ed.), they will probably be properly summoned to the MLC,”

said lawyer Oleg Mytsyk on one of the TV channels.
