Zelensky will not apologize to Trump

During his visit to the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gave an interview to Fox news, in which he answered tough questions about his relationship with American leader Donald Trump. One of the most interesting questions concerned whether Zelenskyy considered it necessary to apologize to Trump for the dispute in the White House.

Zelenskyy: “I don’t think we did anything wrong”

When asked about a possible apology, Zelensky answered clearly and diplomatically:

“I respect the president and I respect the people of America, we need to be very open. I don’t think we did anything wrong. With all due respect to democracy and the media, I think we need to understand the position of Ukraine,” the President of Ukraine said.

He also added that Ukraine has always been transparent in its actions and decisions. According to him, the strategic partnership with the United States remains a key factor in countering Russian aggression.

Should this conversation have been behind closed doors? Do you regret this dispute?

The President of Ukraine answered another question regarding the publicity of this dispute:

“Yes, I think it was not very good. I am always open to the media, but there were very sensitive things here, and I want our partners to understand things correctly,” Zelenskyy said.

Gratitude to Trump and the people of the United States

Despite the differences in approach, Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is grateful to the United States and Trump personally for their support in a difficult period.

“I am grateful to Trump and the people of the United States for their help. You helped us survive,” he said.

Does Trump have a plan for Putin?

In addition to the issue of apology, the Ukrainian president expressed interest in Trump’s possible actions to end the war.

“We are ready to sign an agreement on fossil fuels. But this is not enough. Maybe I don’t know something, and Trump has a plan to stop Putin,” Zelenskyy said.

“We want peace”

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that Zelenskyy does not want peace, but only wants to “fight, fight, fight.” In response to these words, the Ukrainian leader explained his position.

“We want peace. That is why I am in the United States on a visit to President Trump,” he emphasized.

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy argued with his American counterpart Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance over the Russian-Ukrainian war.

First, Vance said that the war between Russia and Ukraine should be resolved through diplomacy. In response, the Ukrainian president said that he had already signed an agreement with Putin in the presence of the French president and the German chancellor.

Zelenskyy also said that if a bad deal is signed between Russia and Ukraine, the United States will “feel it.” Vance and Trump were outraged and replied that they would “feel great” and added that Zelenskyy had no right to impose his opinion.

Ukraine and the United States did not sign an agreement on rare earth metals as originally planned. The signing ceremony was canceled.

As part of his visit to Washington, Zelenskiy was scheduled to speak at the conservative Hudson Institute tonight after his meeting with Trump. But now this visit has been canceled.
