The situation in Chasovyi Yar is difficult: another brigade has been deployed to strengthen the defence

Units of the 24th separate mechanised brigade named after King Danylo have been redeployed to the area of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region to strengthen defence. This is stated in a statement by the brigade, according to
The military said that the situation in and around Chasiv Yar is extremely difficult. The enemy is constantly launching massive frontal assaults and trying to bypass the city from the north and south.
In addition, the occupiers are mercilessly shelling Chasiv Yar with guided aerial bombs and all possible types of weapons.
“The soldiers of the 24th Brigade are massively destroying enemy infantry and equipment, disrupting their plans and making them pay a huge price for every metre of land. Unfortunately, we also have losses. Eternal memory and glory to our fallen comrades. We will take revenge for everyone. The battle continues,”
– the brigade said.
It is worth noting that there are no residential buildings left in the city. However, Ukrainian defenders are holding the line even in such hellish conditions.

In general, the importance of Chasovyi Yar is clear: it is the flank of Kostiantynivka and the old front with good fortifications, pillboxes and minefields. It is a commanding height, a junction and a road to the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.
If the Defence Forces cannot hold the heights, which are well-prepared, covered by a canal and several factories, it will not get any easier.
