Denmark to allocate EUR 5.8 million to rebuild Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

The Danish government has decided to allocate €5.8 million to restore the Ukrainian energy system. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ reports.

The decision was made due to recent Russian attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure.

“In March, Russia decided to intensify targeted attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, and we have witnessed large-scale destruction. We are allocating DKK 40 million (EUR 5.8 million) for the necessary repairs to ensure that Ukraine can maintain its energy supply,”

– the statement reads.

dKK 40 million was allocated from the civilian funds of the Ukrainian government fund.

Earlier, Denmark provided support for the reconstruction of destroyed energy facilities through the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, which was established in the multilateral Energy Community shortly after the invasion.

On 22 March, Russian troops launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine. This attack was one of the largest attacks on the energy sector, with hits and damage to generation facilities
