Where to spend “winter support”: the list of stores has been expanded

The Winter Support state aid program, known as the Winter Thousand, continues to expand. Starting December 18, 2025, Ukrainians will be able to spend money not only in offline stores but also online, and the total number of participating retailers has increased to ten. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
In which stores you can spend the “winter thousand”
Five new retailers have joined the program:
- Auchan
- SPAR
- VARUS
- Torba
- “Simi23”
Thus, the total number of stores accepting payments with the National Cashback card has increased from 1,160 to more than 1,780 across Ukraine.
Earlier, on December 11, Fozzy Group (Silpo, Fora, THRASH! Thrash!, Fozzy) and Blizenko joined the program.
Online shopping: a new feature of the program
For the first time, online shopping has become available to Winter Support participants. They can now spend money on the MAUDAU marketplace using the National Cashback card.
This greatly simplifies the use of the assistance for people who are unable to frequent physical stores.
What you can spend the money on
Funds in the amount of UAH 1,000 can be spent on:
- utility bills
- postal services;
- goods of Ukrainian origin:
- food (except for excisable goods)
- medicines
- books;
- charitable contributions.
Most often, Ukrainians use the “winter thousand” to pay for utilities.
Who can receive the “winter thousand”
The assistance is available to all citizens of Ukraine, including
- adults
- children (a separate application is required for each child).
You can apply
- online through the Diia application;
- through a Ukrposhta branch.
Applications are accepted until December 24, 2025.
How many Ukrainians have already received assistance
As of today:
- 14.3 million Ukrainians have already received assistance;
- the total number of applications exceeded 17 million;
- the total amount of payments through the National Cashback card is over UAH 6 billion.
Until when can the funds be used?
The funds on the National Cashback card must be used by June 30, 2026.
For recipients of assistance through Ukrposhta, the term of use has been extended to the end of February 2026.
