Where Robert Fico actually lives (PHOTO)

The controversial Prime Minister of Slovakia, 61-year-old Robert Fico, recently made another statement about Ukraine.

He said that he would not prevent Ukraine from joining the European Union.

At the same time, his position on banning military aid remains unchanged.

Fico is known for his sympathies towards Russia. And in Slovakia itself, he has become “famous” for a series of corruption scandals.

One of the most high-profile occurred in 2024, when the prime minister purchased an apartment in Bratislava.

According to local media, the apartment cost around €600,000, while his declared income was approximately €130,000 per year.

He bought the apartment from his longtime friend and fellow party member, politician Dušan Munk, who was also involved in high-profile scandals.

Robert Fico still lives in this apartment.

This is confirmed by his comments to the Slovak media: the prime minister says he lives in a three-room apartment in the Sokolská Residence residential complex.

A correspondent from "Komersant Ukrainian" visited the neighborhood where the Slovak prime minister lives and took several photos.

Okánikova 4A, 811 04 Staré Mesto is the full address of the complex. It is located in the center of Bratislava, on a hill, in a quiet and almost deserted area.

About 400 meters away is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A little closer is a secondary school in an old building (currently on vacation).

There are no shops nearby. Only an Indian restaurant and a beer tent covered with tarpaulin. It is closed during the day.

Ironically, a large Ukrainian flag flies in the building opposite.

And on a pole nearby, someone has stuck a sign saying: “Fico = Ruso.”

Construction of the Sokolská Residence complex began during the 2008 crisis. It took almost ten years to complete.

The project was conceived in a high-tech style: terraces, wavy balconies, glass.

The result is somewhat gloomy, concrete architecture.

Five residential floors and one parking level.

There are 32 apartments in the building.

The smallest is about 45 m², the largest is up to 108 m².

The three-room apartment where, according to Fico himself, he lives is approximately 90 m².

Glass balconies, a beautiful view of Bratislava.

Many have tables, chairs, and garden furniture.

No people are visible. One of the residents has hung a bird feeder. It is a regular five-liter water bottle filled with millet.

The least pretentious detail in the entire complex.

On one of the balconies, there is an empty beer bottle. Perhaps this is Mr. Fico’s balcony. Or maybe it’s just another small sign of ordinary life behind the glass.

Sokolská Residence is guarded.

There are two entrances, both with security guards. They don’t come out. They just watch.

To enter the premises, you need special keys or a resident’s permission.

There is an underground parking lot and another one near the upper entrance. During the day, it is almost empty.

There is one car. Cigarette butts, pieces of paper, and trash are scattered on the asphalt.

As I was driving up to the complex, a large black car passed by — a Land Rover Defender.

At the wheel is a gray-haired man with sharp features.

The time is 11:38 a.m.

Perhaps it was the prime minister himself. It is known that he has a driver’s license and used to drive himself sometimes. But considering the time, it is unlikely.

From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Robert Fico is usually at the government palace.

After the assassination attempt in 2024, his security was significantly increased.

According to Slovak media, the prime minister is accompanied by drivers and bodyguards, often resembling him and driving the same cars.

This is a kind of diversionary tactic. If someone “sees Fico” on the street, it is very likely that it is one of his bodyguards.

Fico himself does not walk around his house. He only drives in and out.

Mark, 20, who has been living in a neighboring house for five years, says he has never seen the prime minister.

According to him, people from this complex hardly ever leave on foot — they only leave by car. Therefore, he does not even know who lives there.

Currently, there are two rental offers at Sokolská Residence:

  • A 3-room apartment of 105 m² — about €2,000 with all payments included;
  • 4-room apartment, 108 m² — approximately €3,000 per month.

To rent an apartment, you need to leave your contact details and fill out a questionnaire. If the candidate is suitable, the real estate agency will contact them.

The house is less than a kilometer from the government palace. This house is easy to find on the map.

It is much more difficult to see those who live in it.
