Where to swim in Kyiv: The Ministry of Health has named the safe beaches of the capital

In Kyiv, before the start of the beach season, water from all beaches was tested in laboratories of territorial centers for disease control and prevention. This was reported by the Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

It is safe to swim at the following beaches in the capital:

  • dnipro district: “Venice, Rainbow, Children’s, Golden, Youth, Suburban Sloboda, Central on the Dnipro River and the beach on Lake Telbin;
  • in the Desnianskyi district: “Troyeschyna on the Desenka River and Chortoryi in Muromets Park;
  • in Obolon district: “Pushcha-Vodytsia on the 5-7 line and Obolon Island.

There are also reports of locations where the water may be dangerous.

Thus, as of June 2, the water on the Dnipro River and city lakes within the Galernyi, Raiduha and Verbnyi beaches is unsafe for swimming.

In these areas, the water does not meet the standards for microbiological indicators: it exceeds the norm for lacto-positive coliform bacteria (LPC). While the norm is up to 5,000, the LPC index at Galernyi was 5,600, at Verbnyi it was 6,200, and at Raiduza it exceeded the norm by more than twice and reached 13,000.
