The map of the analytical project DeepState shows an increase in the “gray” zone between the border villages of Zhuravka and Basivka in Sumy region, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In a comment to Suspilne Sumy, DeepState co-founder Ruslan Mykula said that Russian troops are trying to break through the Ukrainian state border and gain a foothold along its entire length from Zhuravka to the Sudzha checkpoint in Kursk region.
“The fighting is ongoing, the enemy is being hit daily,” the analyst emphasized.
He did not specify any other details.
on April 4, State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko reported that Russian attack aircraft continue to try to cross the Ukrainian border and gain a foothold in Sumy region, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroy them on the outskirts and after crossing the border.
on April 6, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security stated that Russian propaganda channels were spreading information about the alleged capture of the village of Basivka in Sumy region, which was false.
At the time, Andriy Demchenko said that Russian groups were present in Basivka, but the village was not under their control.
In an interview with Le Figaro, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russian army was preparing for an offensive in Sumy and Kharkiv regions and was trying to buy time.
on April 7, Ruslan Mykula, co-founder of the DeepState analytical project, said that Russian troops do not stop storming the village of Basivka, as it is the largest settlement in the border area where there are shelters, and that is why the Russian army may try to turn it into a stronghold to further advance towards Yunakivka.
