Staff shortage in Ukraine: whom employers are looking for most

The State Employment Service of Ukraine has published a list of the most sought-after vacancies in the country. Electricians, fitters, and turners are in the lead.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the agency.
Here are the most popular professions:
Electrician for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment. This is a specialist who is engaged in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of various electrical equipment, ensuring its uninterrupted and safe operation. Employers lack 1.2 thousand such specialists.
Teacher’s assistant. First of all, this profession requires specialists who know how to work with children with special educational needs. The difference between demand and supply is almost 1000 vacancies.
Plumber andplumber. These are skilled workers who install, repair, and maintain heating, water, sewer, and gas supply systems. There are few such specialists in the labor market, with an unmet need of more than 900 workers.
Locksmith-repairman. Such vacancies are for skilled workers who maintain, diagnose, and repair various machinery and equipment. The shortage of personnel in this profession is estimated at more than 850 workers.
Assistant teacher of a preschool education institution. This is a teacher who, together with educators, is engaged in the comprehensive development of children, helping them with various tasks. The labor market lacks 639 such workers.
Waiter. The difference between employers’ demand and the supply is almost 600 vacancies.
Operator of programmed machine tools. This is a specialist who operates machines that produce various parts using computer programs. The shortage of such specialists is more than 500.
Inspector of the penitentiary system. Such an employee forms and controls the work processes of penitentiary institutions. The number of vacancies in this area is almost 500 more than the supply.
Emergency repairman. These are specialists who work with water supply and heating systems, and their main tasks are to urgently repair damage and restore operations. The shortage of such workers is 465 specialists.
Turner. This is a specialist who processes workpieces to make parts from wood, metal, plexiglass, or plastic. The labor market lacks 442 such specialists.
There are also vacancies for which Ukrainians do not often look for work, but there are offers. These include: shipbuilder, map editor, film critic, nightclub dancer, and money collector from vending machines and turnstiles.
