MP from Khmelnytsky region “forgot” to declare an airplane

In Khmelnytskyi region, three city councilors were served with notices of suspicion of false declaration of property worth over UAH 25 million. One of the defendants “lost” an ultralight aircraft in the declaration.

This was reported by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, reports [Kommersant].

The suspects are deputies of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Slavuta and Shepetivka city councils. The undeclared assets include real estate, land plots, corporate rights, cars, cash and funds in accounts. The total amount of undeclared property exceeds UAH 25 million.

Thedeputy of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council did not indicate property worth UAH 5.6 million and UAH 3.5 million in his declarations for 2021 and 2022, respectively. The undeclared assets include an ultralight aircraft.

A deputy of the Slavuta City Council failed to declare non-residential premises and financial assistance in the amount of UAH 2 million received by a company related to his relative. The total value of the hidden assets is about UAH 7 million.

A deputy of the Shepetivka City Council failed to declare cash, accounts and corporate rights worth more than UAH 9.2 million, including UAH 3.8 million in cash, in her declarations for 2022 and 2023.

Based on the evidence collected, all three were served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – declaring false information.

The investigation is being conducted by investigators of the regional police department with the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Unit. The Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor’s Office is providing procedural guidance.

As a reminder, the day before, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced that 22 officials in Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi regions were served with suspicions. They are suspected of abuses that caused UAH 33 million in losses to the communities.
