The State Energy Supervision Inspectorate will strengthen control over the preparation of energy facilities for winter in the regions of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the agency, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that at a meeting with the heads of the territorial departments of the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate, the issues of energy security, restoration and protection of energy facilities and strengthening control over the preparation of energy facilities of market participants for work in the autumn-winter period were discussed.
It is reported that the participants of the meeting analysed the state of restoration work at energy facilities that had suffered significant damage as a result of hostilities.
The need to take management measures to accelerate the pace of recovery, monitor the timely completion of repairs and ensure proper preparation of the networks to avoid disruptions in energy supply to consumers during the cold months was emphasised.
The agency is also convinced that special attention should be paid to ensuring stable and secure energy supply to consumers, as well as fair distribution of electricity under the current hourly blackout schedules, if they are used.
The repair campaign and preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter period (AWP) are proceeding as planned, despite the massive shelling of energy infrastructure, said Anatoliy Zamulko, acting head of the State Energy Supervision Service.
According to him, all the necessary measures are being taken to minimise the risk of power outages in winter.
“This powerful process covers the entire energy system. Despite the fact that after the massive shelling, the reserves for restoring the power system are quickly used up, there are solutions that allow us to say that we will be prepared for the winter. The assistance of our international partners with equipment and replenishment of the necessary emergency stocks also has a positive impact on the situation,” said Anatoliy Zamulko.
