The State Customs Service has introduced new digital services: what conveniences will businesses get

The State Customs Service of Ukraine continues its digital transformation and introduces innovations to make interaction with customs authorities as simple and modern as possible. The official Telegram bot of the State Customs Service has new features that significantly improve the service for declarants, carriers and businesses, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to the State Customs Service, users can now get advice from customs authorities even faster, in a more convenient format – without the need for personal requests or searching for information on websites.

Artificial intelligence for customs consultations

If the bot does not recognize the request using the standard algorithm, it automatically transmits it to an artificial intelligence system. This system has been specially trained on the basis of customs legislation and practical cases, so the answers are becoming

  • more accurate,
  • personalized,
  • understandable even for those who are not experts in the customs field.

Voice input

For the first time, users can communicate with customs by voice. This is especially useful for

  • truck drivers
  • customs brokers
  • entrepreneurs working in the field,
  • anyone who appreciates efficiency.

Voice control allows you to ask questions and get answers without typing.

Why it was introduced

The State Customs Service relies on a service model of work, i.e. the transition from a controlling authority to a digital business partner.

The new tools are designed to:

  • reduce the time to obtain information,
  • facilitate access to customs procedures
  • reduce the risk of mistakes when submitting documents.

The digitalization of the State Customs Service continues

In early October, the Customs also updated the “Customs Payment Accounts” page on the “Single Window for International Trade” portal. Thanks to the new interface, businesses can quickly find the right account and avoid mistakes when paying customs duties.

As a reminder, the State Customs Service of Ukraine has stopped conducting documentary inspections of business entities that have the status of authorized economic operators (AEOs) and low-risk companies, except for those engaged in activities related to the circulation of excisable goods. The moratorium is likely to last for up to a year and will cover only low-risk businesses and authorized economic operators.
