the 80th separate airborne assault Galician brigade published a video showing the first hours of the Ukrainian offensive against the Kursk region of Russia. The video shows artillery preparations, attacks on targets on the border, tank and infantry breaching of the border, and the first captures of Russian soldiers.

“More than fifty captured Russians in the Kursk region, a destroyed border crossing point and a broken enemy defence line. These are the results of the Galician paratroopers after the first hours of the military operation in Kursk region,”

– the brigade’s Telegram channel reported.

The video clearly shows Russian soldiers waving a white cloth in surrender on the ruins of a bombed-out border checkpoint.

“Approaching the Sudzha border crossing point, the assault groups of the 80th Brigade enlisted the support of artillery and heavy armoured vehicles. Faced with heavy fire from Ukrainian artillery and seeing Ukrainian tanks on the territory of the border crossing point, the Russians made the right decision to hang a white flag and surrender to Ukrainian soldiers, heading towards the Ukrainian border with their wounded,”

– the statement reads.

Another video released by the airborne assault troops also clearly shows artillery preparations and the entry of Ukrainian troops into Kursk region.

Kursk offensive

The Ukrainian armed forces’ offensive in the Kursk region of Russia began on 6 August. Since then, there have been constant hostilities there, and Russia has introduced a counter-terrorism operation in three regions bordering Ukraine.

According to unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced up to 30 km in some areas. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy that 74 settlements were under the control of the Armed Forces. Later, it was reported that 100 settlements and more than 1,000 square kilometres of territory were under control.

Ukrainian soldiers are breaking records for capturing Russians: 102 Russian soldiers were captured the day before yesterday.
