Serhiy Deyneko has been appointed an advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He will also continue his military service and, after a short rehabilitation, will head a combat unit of the State Border Guard Service.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko.

According to him, taking into account the recommendations of doctors, the general needs a short period of recovery after many years of service.

“I appreciate both General Deyneko’s managerial experience gained over more than 6 years as head of the State Border Guard Service and his military achievements. As an advisor, I expect him to provide expert support, advice based on combat experience and participation in the development of solutions in the field of state border security,” Klymenko wrote.

Upon completion of rehabilitation, Serhiy Deyneko will be appointed commander of a combat unit of the State Border Guard Service. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasized that his advice from the front line will be of even greater practical value and will be in line with the realities of war.
