The Ministry of Digital Transformation has announced that the Diia app will soon inform Ukrainians that someone is viewing their data in state registries, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“We will soon launch notifications in Diia so that you can see who has viewed information in the registers and why. The government has adopted a resolution that launches a subsystem for monitoring access to data in Trembita,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasized that this is important because Ukrainians will know how the state works with their data. It is also an additional protection, as each fact of exchange will be recorded in the system, so any fraudulent schemes are prevented.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation emphasizes that the notification will contain an explanation of who, when, and why made a request for your data in the register. However, there are exceptions: you will not be notified in case of measures related to crime investigation, counterintelligence, counterterrorism, or pre-trial investigation.
To create the service, the Ministry of Digital Transformation took advantage of the Estonian experience, as this practice has already been implemented there.
