It will be more interesting for children on the train: Ukrzaliznytsia added a second children’s carriage

Ukrzaliznytsia has launched a second children’s compartment car designed in partnership with UNICEF. It will be running as part of the Kharkiv-Uzhhorod train No. 17/18 starting November 19. This was reported by the company’s press service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
It is noted that cars of this type are equipped in such a way as to be as comfortable as possible for the youngest passengers from 0 to 8 years old and their parents.
“Inside the car, children will find billboards with moving elements, educational and entertainment materials, interactive games, cognitive tasks, and specially designed themed compartments. For safety, there is a playpen for the smallest passengers, an increased upper shelf stop with an anti-shock pad and padded handrails for children for safe movement,” UZ said.
The doors to each compartment depict “Sparks of Superpowers” – characters from the puppet theater developed by the United Nations Children’s Fund.
Tickets for this car can be purchased exclusively in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, where it is marked separately.
The company also reminded that children under 5 years of age travel free of charge on Ukrzaliznytsia trains and do not need a separate ticket.
What is special about the equipment of the car?
Interactive posters, billboards with moving elements, and padded handrails for children’s safety in the car corridor have been installed. The restroom contains a supplementary set of hygiene products, a changing table, and special toilet seat covers for children.
Ukrzaliznytsia assures that all compartments will be easily distinguishable by a child, as they are now labeled with Superpower Sparks, puppet theater characters developed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) with a focus on developing 16 skills important for the harmonious development of preschoolers.
On August 8, Ukrzaliznytsia launched the first children’s carriage as part of the Kharkiv-Yasinia train No. 15/16.
At the end of August, a specially designed children’s menu by Yevhen Klopotenko was launched in the children’s car of Ukrzaliznytsia.
In total, UZ plans to launch 8 cars of this type in 2024.
