There are six types of additional payments for servicemen: what are the amounts and conditions

There are 6 types of additional payments for Ukrainian servicemen. At the same time, the 70,000 for participation in combat operations, additionally approved by the government, is not a replacement for the well-known “100 combat thousand”. Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Natalia Kalmykova said this in an interview with Ukrinform, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Kalmykova said that there is an additional remuneration paid per month in proportion to the time spent on combat missions.

She recalled that the Cabinet of Ministers had approved an additional financial reward for the military in the amount of 70,000 hryvnias.

“UAH 70,000 is not a replacement for 100,000 ‘combat’ hryvnias, but an additional payment for those on the front line. It is received by servicemen of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Security Service, the GUR, the State Border Guard Service, the Special Communication Service, the State Special Transport Service, as well as police officers,” Kalmykova explained,

– Kalmykova explained.

According to her, there is a nuance: “combat” allowances are paid monthly, and the amount of payment depends on the number of days during which the tasks were performed, so the wording in the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution is different with regard to the payment of 70,000: “for every 30 days (calculated in total) of performing such tasks”. That is, this payment is not tied to a specific month, but should be paid when the total number of days of tasks is 30.

What types of additional payments to the military exist:

Thefirst type is the payment of an additional remuneration of UAH 100,000 to military personnel who are directly involved in hostilities or are located in the areas of Russian aggression. It is reserved for the families of prisoners of war, missing persons and for the period of treatment after receiving injuries, traumas, contusions related to the defence of the Motherland.

Thesecond type is an additional remuneration of UAH 50,000. It is paid to those servicemen who perform combat missions as part of a military command and control body, the headquarters of a group of troops or the headquarters of a tactical group at a command post of an operational and strategic group of troops.

This is possible outside the areas of combat operations, if such a point carries out operational control of military units and subunits fighting on the line of combat contact at a distance of performing combat tasks of a unit of the first echelon of defence or offensive up to and including a battalion. The list of such military command and control bodies is approved by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The third type is payments in the amount of 30 thousand. For the period of martial law, this remuneration is paid to servicemen who perform combat or special tasks in accordance with combat orders. According to Kalmykova, this applies to:

  • servicemen operating as part of groups of troops of the State Defence Forces, the reserve of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the State Defence Forces, deployed command posts of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which control the operating groups of troops (forces);
  • air cover and ground defence of critical infrastructure facilities in accordance with combat orders;
  • for comprehensive support of the operating groups of troops of the State Defence Forces directly in the areas of combat operations in accordance with combat logistics orders.

The fourth type is an additional payment of 70 thousand. This payment is intended for those who are directly on the contact line with the enemy.

It is paid to members of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Intelligence Service, the State Border Guard Service, the Special Communications Service, the State Special Transport Service, and police officers.

It will be available to those who perform combat or special tasks in the first echelon of defence or offensive at a distance of up to and including a company stronghold. Those who perform combat missions between the positions of the Ukrainian Defence Forces and the aggressor, in the territories occupied by Russia, as well as in the enemy’s territory, can also count on it.

Kalmykova added that the payments are not tied to a month, but to the number of days during which the tasks were performed. That is, a soldier will be able to receive 70,000 after he or she has completed 30 total days of such tasks.

Thefifth type is from UAH 15,000 to UAH 30,000 for instructors in military training units.

Thesixth type is UAH 2,350 for cadets of military universities.
