Up to UAH 23 thousand: what scholarships will increase from September 1 and who will be able to receive them

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted amendments to Cabinet Resolution No. 1047, which provide for an increase in the amount of presidential scholarships for pupils, students and postgraduates from September 1, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

It is noted that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted amendments to the current resolution, which provide for a significant increase in the amount of presidential academic scholarships. The new payments will take effect as early as September 1, 2025, which will be a significant incentive for the most successful pupils and students.

Amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution

In accordance with the amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1047 dated December 28, 2016:

  1. Paragraph two of clause 1 after the word “students” is supplemented with the words “and postgraduate students”.
  2. In the amount of scholarships for students of vocational education institutions, students of colleges, universities, scientific institutions and winners of intellectual competitions:
    • in the title, after the word “students”, the words “and postgraduates” are added ;
    • in clause 4:
      • the figures 2750 are replaced by 6320;
      • the figures 3320 are replaced by 7600;
      • the figures 4400 are replaced by 10,000;
      • a new paragraph was added: “for postgraduate students – UAH 23,700 per month”.

New amounts from September 1, 2025:

  • students of vocational schools – UAH 6320;
  • students of colleges and technical schools – UAH 7,600;
  • students of higher education institutions – UAH 10,000;
  • postgraduate students – UAH 23,700.

What scholarships are available in Ukraine?

Currently, Ukrainian students can receive:

  • academic – for academic performance;
  • social scholarships – if they have benefits;
  • presidential scholarships for the best students;
  • scholarships from the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada for significant academic or scientific achievements.
