Delegations of 35 states and the Council of Europe arrived in Lviv: photos

Today, on May 9, Europe Day, EU ministers and diplomats are visiting Lviv. Delegations from 35 countries and the Council of Europe are present. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga greeted the head of European diplomacy Kaja Kallas and their European colleagues. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The visit of the officials began with a commemoration at the Lychakiv Cemetery of Ukrainian heroes who sacrificed their lives defending Ukraine from Russian aggression.

“During the meeting, we discussed further joint efforts to strengthen Ukraine, increase pressure on Russia and promote Ukraine’s accession to the EU. There are two important events ahead: The meeting of EU foreign ministers and the meeting of the Core Group on the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said.

At the ceremony honoring the fallen defenders in the Russian-Ukrainian war, which took place in Lviv on the Field of Mars, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine and Europe are eternally indebted to those who gave their lives for peace and security on the entire continent. He thanked foreign partners for their solidarity with Ukraine.

“We feel and highly appreciate your unwavering support for the Ukrainian people,” the head of the Ukrainian government said.
