12 February 10:13
The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rate for Thursday, February 12. Compared to the previous banking day, the hryvnia strengthened against the US dollar and the euro, while the Polish zloty remained unchanged. The relevant data was published on the official website of the NBU, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The official exchange rate of the NBU for February 12:
- 1 US dollar — 43.03 UAH (–6 kopecks)
- 1 euro — 51.20 UAH (–5 kopecks)
- 1 Polish zloty — 12.15 UAH (no change)
Thus, the US currency fell by 6 kopecks, the euro lost 5 kopecks, and the zloty remained at the previous level.
What is happening with the hryvnia
The decline in the official exchange rate of the dollar and the euro indicates a short-term strengthening of the hryvnia. Exchange rate fluctuations remain moderate, but the currency market continues to be influenced by seasonal factors, importer demand, budget payments, and the situation in the energy sector.
The official NBU exchange rate is used for customs payments, accounting, and other financial transactions, but in the cash segment, the rates may vary depending on supply and demand.
