Ukraine has simplified the procedure for obtaining a police clearance certificate. From now on, you can get a paper certificate online – through the Diia app or the Single Window for Citizens service. This was announced on Telegram by the Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
How the new service works
Previously, to obtain a certificate, one had to apply in person (or through a representative) to the Ministry of Internal Affairs office in Kyiv. Now, a few clicks on your smartphone or computer are enough. The document, including an apostille, can be ordered online.
“The Ministry of Internal Affairs, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, continues to digitalize its services to make each service as simple and accessible as possible,” Klymenko said.
Step-by-step instructions
- Log in to the “Single Window for Citizens ” service on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or in the “Diia” application.
- Fill out an online application.
- Choose the format – “Paper extract”.
- Determine the method of receipt: at a unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukrposhta branch or by courier delivery.
You can order both a regular extract and a document with an apostille through the “Single Window for Citizens” service.
Timeframe for execution
- the certificate takes up to 30 days to be issued;
- an apostille takes an additional 5 days to be issued.
The order status is available for checking online.
Popularity of the service
According to the Minister, the police clearance certificate is one of the most popular services in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Since the beginning of the year alone, citizens have issued more than 44,000 paper extracts, including more than 33,500 with an apostille.
