14 March 08:14

Unidentified drones attacked the Krasnodar Krai region of Russia overnight. The Afipsky Oil Refinery was hit, and a fire broke out there.

This was reported by [Komersant], citing Russian propaganda media.

Local residents of the Krasnodar Krai reported dozens of explosions that began around 1 a.m. and are still ongoing. Sirens are also wailing in the region, and air defense systems are active.

According to official data from the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters, the refinery was allegedly damaged by drone debris. Preliminary reports indicate there are no casualties.

“Technical facilities caught fire. Emergency and special services are on site. Measures are being taken to extinguish the fire,” wrote one of the public pages for Krasnodar and the region.

Another source specifies that the AT-22/4 unit at the refinery was hit. The unit is considered a key component of the facility, where the oil refining process begins.

Previous attacks on the Krasnodar Region

As is known, the Krasnodar Region of the Russian Federation is occasionally attacked by drones. For example, recently, on March 8, drones attacked an oil pumping station in the Krasnodar Region.

The Afipsky Oil Refinery has also been targeted by drones on multiple occasions. The most recent attack on this refinery was reported in January of this year. A fire also broke out at the plant at that time.

Also in January, a port in the Krasnodar Krai came under attack. Official reports confirmed casualties and injuries resulting from the attacks.
