Firewood for the heating season: current prices and supply rates

As the heating season approaches, the demand for firewood in Ukraine is growing. The State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine” continues to provide the population and social institutions with solid fuel, claiming that firewood prices remain stable at the level of the previous period.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the company’s press service.
Prices and purchase procedure
Firewood is a social product, the price of which is formed with minimal profitability (about 3%). The average cost in Ukraine ranges from UAH 1,000 to 1,200 per cubic meter (including VAT), depending on the region.
To buy firewood, you just need to contact the nearest forestry. For the convenience of payment, each forestry has a QR code that allows you to make a payment quickly and without queues. One person can buy up to 15 cubic meters of firewood.
Government assistance for the purchase of fuel
Starting in September, the Cabinet of Ministers will start paying one-time financial assistance for the purchase of solid fuel. The assistance is available to
- residents of the 10-kilometer zone from the border with Russia or the contact line;
- vulnerable categories of citizens (large families, people with disabilities, pensioners, IDPs) in 9 frontline regions: Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovs’k, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Chernihiv regions.
The amount of payment per household is UAH 19.5 thousand.
