The management of the Kyiv football club Dynamo has dismissed the entire first-team coaching staff, headed by Oleksandr Shovkovsky, from their duties. The statement is posted on the team’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The team’s coaching staff has been relieved of their duties. Ihor Kostyuk, the coach of Dynamo U19, has been appointed acting head coach, the statement reads.

Kostyuk is well known within the club’s structure, as he previously led the Dynamo U-19 youth team, which he led to four gold medals in the youth championship.

Together with Shovkovsky, they left their positions:

  • Assistant Head Coaches: Emilian Karas, Oleh Husiev, Serhiy Fedorov and Maciej Kędzierek.
  • Goalkeeping coach: Mykhailo Mykhailov.

The last match for Shovkovskyi on the coaching bridge of Kyiv was a failed match against Cyprus’ Omonia in the European Cup. In total, Kyiv lost four of their last five matches in all competitions, including defeats in the UPL by Kolos Kovaliv and LNZ Cherkasy.

on November 4, Dynamo president Ihor Surkis expresses outrage at the scandalous decision of Vitaliy Romanov’s refereeing team during the 11th round of the Premier League match against Shakhtar. The White and Blues boss criticized the referees for not awarding a penalty kick in the 60th minute of the game with the Pitmen leading 2-1 in their favor.

on November 16, Ukraine defeated Iceland and made it to the playoffs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
