“Junior Eurovision: a record number of applications have been received for participation in the National Selection

This year, the number of applications for participation in the national selection for Junior Eurovision has set a record. A total of 309 applications were received, of which 272 were from solo artists. This was reported on the Instagram account of Eurovision Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
In total, 309 performers want to represent our country at the international song contest. Most applications were submitted by solo artists, 83% of whom are girls and 17% are boys.
This year, the conditions for participation in the contest have changed slightly. To represent Ukraine on the European stage, young singers had to record two covers and a personal video presentation. Despite this, about 19% of the participants additionally submitted an original composition.
The longlist will be published by 25 July.
This year, music producer of the National Selection Svitlana Tarabarova and songwriter Yevhen Triplov will be responsible for writing original songs for the six finalists selected based on the results of the “star school”, while director and creative producer Yevhen Kot will be responsible for the visual component of the National Selection and the participants’ stage performances.
The final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in September in the format of a televised concert.
