“Economic Oscar 2025: Kyiv to name heroes and anti-heroes of the year

on December 19, Kyiv will host the annual analytical event “Economic Oscar 2025”, also known as “Economic Results of Ukraine – 2025”. The event is dedicated to analyzing the key positive and negative results of the year in the country’s economic and political life, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

During the event, well-known economists, businessmen, analysts and bloggers will present 20 nominations of the International Liberty Institute (ILI), which will determine the most influential heroes and anti-heroes of 2025.

The nominees include government agencies, politicians, companies, economic decisions, laws, managerial actions, and even viral statements by politicians that have had a significant impact on Ukraine’s economy.

The organizers emphasize that the event aims not only to celebrate achievements but also to publicly name mistakes and failures that have hindered the country’s development.

The key nominations of the Economic Oscars 2025 include:

  • the most effective and worst government agency of the year;
  • an economic decision that improved the lives of Ukrainians and a decision with the opposite effect;
  • economic victim, mystery and mishap of the year;
  • the most powerful investor in Ukraine;
  • ukrainian companies that made the biggest breakthrough;
  • the most high-profile economic scandal, failure and trend of the year.

The official part of the event will be followed by a cocktail reception and informal communication with participants and guests.
