Ex-executive of Kharkivoblenergo exposed for embezzlement in the purchase of transformers

The NABU and the SAPO have detained two alleged co-organisers of a scheme to seize transformer and measuring equipment from Kharkivoblenergo. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the press service of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau.

It is a case of embezzlement of more than UAH 12.5 million and attempted embezzlement of another UAH 120 million, the press service said

According to the press service, the detainees are the acting chairman of the board in 2020-2024 and the head of the company.

In 2020-2024, Konstantin Logvinenko was the head of Kharkivoblenergo. He is mentioned in the NABU report.

As for the second person involved in the case, i.e. the head of the commercial enterprise, according to the UP, it is Oleksandr Kozyr.

The transaction consisted of the sale of transformers and meters to the company by pre-selected companies at inflated prices.

The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the individuals is being resolved.

The press service of Kharkivoblenergo, for its part, reported that the criminal proceedings in this case have been ongoing since 2021. According to the press service, the NABU report refers to former, not current, employees of the company.

“Since 30 October 2023, the owner of the controlling stake in Kharkivoblenergo has been Ukrainian Distribution Networks JSC. In April 2024, the head of the executive body of Kharkivoblenergo was replaced,” the company said in a press release.
