EVA and HeroCar launch their largest fundraiser for medical transport for the front line
1 October 19:17
On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, the EVA network and the HeroCar program of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation announce the launch of a new charity initiative, Support Life.
The goal of the initiative is to raise funds for the purchase of five specially equipped medical evacuation vehicles for the Angels Patronage Service, which rescues the wounded from the hottest spots every day.
Today, soldiers of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other units of the Azov movement are under the care of Angels. The service has helped thousands of wounded during the war, so its team knows well how important vehicles are at the front, especially evacuation vehicles. After all, one vehicle can transport several soldiers at the same time. This means hundreds of lives saved every month, and five vehicles can give thousands of chances for life.
For a unit, a serviceable evacuation vehicle is not just a vehicle. It is a chance. “It is the confidence that once the wounded are loaded, we will reach the staging area,” says medic Victoria Goncharuk , call sign “Tori.” “I remember an incident during an assault on enemy positions: our fighter stepped on a mine, lost one leg and sustained severe injuries to his other leg, arm, face and neck. His comrades at the positions incorrectly put up the turnstiles, and by the time we arrived he had already lost a critical amount of blood and was unconscious. The evacuation to the staging area took about two hours. It was only because we arrived quickly and were able to take him out immediately that we managed to save not only his life, but also his arm and leg.
She adds that the logistics of evacuations are completely dependent on reliable transportation.
It is an opportunity to take everyone we need on time and without stopping. We don’t have to be afraid that in the middle of the evacuation the vehicle will break down and we will be left under fire with the wounded. That is why not just one but dozens of lives depend on reliable transportation – each additional trip can save someone else.
The “Support Life” collection will last until November 9 inclusive. You can join in by making a transfer of UAH 1 or more at the cash desks of EVA stores or online.
On the Day of Defenders of Ukraine, we not only say words of gratitude, but also take concrete steps. Every hryvnia donated by our customers turns into an opportunity to save lives. For EVA, Support Life is not just another fundraiser, but an opportunity to help those who hold the sky and the earth for all of us every day,” says Oleksandra Hnatyk, Head of PR at EVA and EVA.UA.
EVA and HeroCar have already implemented a number of large-scale projects. In particular, 119 motorcycles were recently delivered to the military, which significantly increased the mobility and maneuverability of units on the front line. Now the partners have joined forces for another critical goal.
We are currently raising funds for five evacuation vehicles that will rescue the wounded from the front line. Every minute counts during evacuation, and the availability of equipped vehicles increases the chances of saving the lives of wounded defenders. I urge you to join this collection, because every contribution is important!” summarizes Evgeniya But, CEO of the Ruslan Shostak Charitable Foundation.
