FAO and the EU extended the call for grant applications: how to get up to $25,000

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), together with the European Union, is opening up new horizons for the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. Applications for grants under the program to strengthen farmers’ resilience, aimed at developing agriculture and introducing environmental approaches in production, have been extended until February 9, 2025. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval, 266 agricultural enterprises have already applied for participation in the program.
Program terms and conditions
Under the terms of the program, participants will have to make their own investment contribution, the amount of which depends on the chosen area of activity.
Grants are available in two categories:
- Up to UAH 416,500 (equivalent to $10,000) for small agricultural producers.
- Up to UAH 1,041,250 (equivalent to $25,000) for micro and small enterprises, cooperatives and producers of products with geographical indications.
The grants will be paid in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) at the UN exchange rate.

Farmers from which regions can receive grants
According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy, agricultural producers can apply for the program:
- lviv region.
- zakarpattia region.
- from Ivano-Frankivsk region.
- from the Chernivtsi region.
- from certain districts of Dnipropetrovska oblast.

Grant funds are provided for various industries:
- Berry growing.
- Vegetable growing.
- Aquaculture.
- Dairy production.
- Non-wood forest products.
- Honey production.
- Wine production.
- Production of Hutsul cheeses.
