Fedorov presents new secret drone “Katran”: destroys targets at sea, on land and in the air

Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov has unveiled a new Katran drone capable of destroying targets at sea, on land and in the air.
This was announced by Mr. Fedorov himself, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“Katran is a high-tech development from the Ukrainian military company Military Armored Company HUB.
The drone is equipped with torpedoes, a machine gun, man-portable air defense systems and other weapons. It can cover distances of more than 1000 kilometers and performs strike and reconnaissance operations. The drone is multifunctional – it effectively destroys sea, land and air targets.
The Katran does not require a separate electronic warfare system; it has a built-in system for automatic threat recognition and trap shooting.
Fedorov considers the drone a supertechnology that sets “a new standard of warfare.”

The Weapons section of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s internal “resilience plan” stipulated that Ukraine would produce at least 30,000 long-range drones in 2025. According to the president, the drones should compensate for the lack of artillery in the Ukrainian army.
In December 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution that makes the procurement of domestically produced unmanned systems and electronic warfare (EW) equipment permanent. At the time, it was assured that military unit commanders would be able to purchase tactical-level drones and electronic warfare systems without unnecessary bureaucratic approvals from the General Staff and other military authorities.
Later, the Ministry of Defense stated that combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would receive direct funding of 2.5 billion hryvnias per month. These funds will be distributed among the brigades of the Armed Forces to purchase drones.
