10 November 23:30

The Swiss mining company Ferrexpo plc (LSE: FXPO) reported that following the Russian missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on the morning of November 8, 2025, electricity supply to its enterprises was disrupted. As a result, production and exports have been temporarily suspended. This is stated in a statement published by the company on the website of the London Stock Exchange, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The company notes that there were no casualties or injuries.

Energy sector hit in Poltava region

In recent months, there has been an increase in the frequency and intensity of attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy production and transmission infrastructure.

According to Ferrexpo, the attacks targeted energy facilities in Horishni Plavni, the city where the company’s main production facilities are located, as well as the industrial zone of Kremenchuk.

Following the attacks, electricity supply to Horishni Plavni was completely cut off, causing Ferrexpo Poltava Mining (FPM) and Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining (FYM) to shut down.

Impact on Ferrexpo’s production and exports

Ferrexpo emphasized that it had prepared in advance for possible disruptions by creating reserves of semi-finished and finished products at the company’s sites and elsewhere to minimize the impact on the production cycle and exports.

Over the weekend, electricity supply was partially restored and some areas of the processing plant are back in operation. Work to restore power supply and production capacity is ongoing.

The company promised to provide an update when the situation stabilizes.

“Ferrexpo regrets that the attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have led to a temporary suspension of production. We continue to make every effort to resume operations as soon as possible,” the company said in an official statement.
