Yuriy Golik, a consultant to the Presidential Office and owner of the phone with the scandalous NABU leaks, has left Ukraine. This was reported by ZN.UA with reference to sources in the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, reports [Kommersant]
According to the sources, Golik left the country through the Shlyakh system, presenting a disability certificate, and is currently in Austria.
At the same time, NABU sources confirmed that a week ago, detectives searched the home of Valentyn Reznichenko, a key figure in the case of the UAH 1.5bn road repair tenders won by Budinvest Engineering LLC in the Dnipro region. After that, Golik allegedly left Ukraine.
The NABU is currently checking the accuracy of the information about Golik’s departure, as the bureau does not have direct access to the Shlyakh system.
The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine refused to comment on the information about Golik’s border crossing, citing the fact that the SBGS is not entitled to disclose information about border crossings by citizens. Instead, they stressed that they work exclusively within the framework of the current rules, regulations and prohibitions on border crossings by state authorities.
It is not yet known what additional evidence detectives could have found during the search of Reznichenko and whether this fact influenced Golik’s decision to flee Ukraine. However, the person involved in the top investigation into high-level corruption, which caused a global crisis at the NABU, appears to be no longer in Ukraine.
on May 22, the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, together with the National Police, searched the home of a NABU employee over a leak in the high-profile case. The SAPO reported that the NABU’s Internal Control Department is investigating a possible crime by the Bureau’s employees under Articles 364 and 387 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation concerns the former head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, and his business partner, Yuriy Holyk. The case is about the disappearance of one and a half billion hryvnias during the implementation of the Big Construction programme. NABU representatives disclosed information about this case in the interests of businessman Yuriy Golyk, who received detailed information about the investigation through an intermediary, businessman Georgiy Birkadze, former head of the Brovary District State Administration. Therefore, Yuriy Golik’s mobile phone is one of the key pieces of evidence in this case.
