Fico tells Zelensky that Russia is interested in meeting

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a meeting in Uzhhorod that he had seen Russia’s interest in meeting in Beijing.

“It was important to say at a meeting with President Zelensky that there is interest in a meeting there (in Russia – ed.),” Fico said.
According to him, during their conversation with Vladimir Putin, which took place on September 2 in Beijing, the Russian president allowed for the possibility of a meeting with Zelenskyy not in Moscow.
on September 5, Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum that the best place for him to meet Zelenskyy was Moscow. He added that he was ready to guarantee 100% security for the Ukrainian leader and his delegation if they decided to visit the Russian capital.
