23 March 19:14

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a conversation with Mozambican President Daniel Chapa, during which the two leaders discussed the possibility of supplying natural gas to Ukraine.

Zelenskyy announced this on March 23 on Telegram, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Ukraine is seeking additional energy resources

According to the Ukrainian president, Kyiv is interested in diversifying its energy supply.

“Ukraine is interested in additional energy supplies,” Zelenskyy noted.

At the same time, Mozambique, he said, is interested in Ukrainian technologies and expertise, particularly in the field of security.

Security, digitalization, and food were discussed

During the talks, the parties also raised the issue of expanding bilateral cooperation.

These include the following areas:

  • internal security and counterterrorism
  • digitalization of government services
  • food security

According to Zelenskyy, the parties agreed that teams from both countries will continue working on specific cooperation projects.

Ukraine is expanding gas imports

Ukraine is simultaneously conducting negotiations with European energy suppliers.

In particular, the Polish energy company Orlen plans to supply over 1 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Ukraine in 2026.

These steps are part of Kyiv’s strategy to strengthen energy security and diversify gas supply sources.
