Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko has denied the information about his alleged resignation, which was spread in some telegram channels. In a post on Facebook, he emphasized that he continues to fulfill his duties and has no intention of leaving the post, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Refutations and harsh rhetoric

Kravchenko said that the only source of the resignation reports were anonymous channels and called their information false. He emphasized that he knew “everyone who is now working against him and the prosecutor’s office as an institution,” promising to “come after everyone personally.”

Such statements indicate an increase in tension around the leadership of the prosecutor’s office and possible internal conflicts within the security bloc.

“I remain where I promised to be, where it is most difficult,” he wrote, adding that he continues to work “without relaxation.”

Who is Ruslan Kravchenko?

Ruslan Kravchenko became the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office in June 2025 after the dismissal of Andriy Kostin, who was caught up in a scandal over fake disability schemes among prosecutors.

After his appointment, Kravchenko announced his intention to restore the independence of the prosecutor’s office and to separate it from political influence. He also promised to return to the prosecutor’s office the role of coordinator of law enforcement agencies, a function that the institution had effectively lost after the 2015 reform.

Prior to that, he worked in the leadership of the Bucha Prosecutor’s Office, participated in the competition for the head of the NABU, headed the Kyiv Regional State Administration, and later the State Tax Service. After a short period in the government, he was appointed Prosecutor General.

What can the rumors about Kravchenko’s resignation mean?

The emergence of resignation rumors and Kravchenko’s sharp reaction may indicate an ongoing struggle for influence in the law enforcement sector. His statements about “those who work against the prosecutor’s office” may indicate complex internal processes or attempts at pressure.

So far, no official procedures related to the resignation of the Prosecutor General have been announced by the Parliament or the Presidential Office.
