General Staff confirms defeat of Russian Cyclone missile ship

The Ukrainian army has hit the Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Cyclone Project 22800 missile ship. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the updated information, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The military clarified that the incident occurred on the night of 19 May. The ship was in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
on 19 May, explosions were heard in Sevastopol, Yevpatoriya, Dzhankoy, Armyansk and on the northern outskirts of Simferopol. The Ukrainian Navy destroyed the Russian minesweeper Kovrovets.
The day before, the spokesperson for the South Command and the Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may have attacked not only the Kovrovets minesweeper but also destroyed the Cyclone ship in the Black Sea. He stressed that if the information is confirmed, it will mean that there are no more Kalibr cruise missile carriers in the area.
Pletenchuk also noted that the sinking of the Cyclone would give the Ukrainian defence forces additional time to respond to artillery strikes.
The Cyclone ship was laid down in 2016 in the occupied Ukrainian territory of Kerch, launched in 2020, accepted into the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy on 12 July 2023 (serial number 801), and went on combat duty on 22 August 2023.
“The Cyclone became the first ship of the Russian Federation’s 22800 Karakurt project in the Black Sea and the fourth ship of this project in all Russian navies.
It served as an air defence vessel in Sevastopol Bay, as it was armed with the Pantsir-S air defence system.
