The information disseminated by the Russian media about the alleged presence of the occupiers in Pokrovsk is not true.

Andriy Kovalyov, spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this in a comment to Ukrinform, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“The enemy is spreading information in the media about its presence in the city of Pokrovsk. We want to state that such information is not true,” Kovalev said.

According to him, the day before, an enemy subversive group tried to break through to the city, but Ukrainian servicemen detected and destroyed the saboteurs on the outskirts of Pokrovsk in time.

“We assume that they could have reported to their command that they were in the city, but they were destroyed on the approach to Pokrovsk,” noted the General Staff spokesman.

He stated that Pokrovsk is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and there is no enemy presence in the city.

“When the Russians failed to enter Pokrovsk with their subversive group, they decided to launch a wave of disinformation to sow panic among Ukrainians,” Kovalev emphasized.
