General Staff changes rules for recruiting volunteers to the Armed Forces
1 August 2024 21:50
Commanders of military units will be allowed to recruit volunteers to their units bypassing the Military Commissariat. This was reported by [kommersant] reports with reference to the General Staff.
The main condition will be the desire of a person liable for military service to serve in this particular unit.
The General Staff claims that such changes will help
- make the mechanism for recruiting citizens for military service simpler;
- personnel will be selected by a commander who is more motivated to serve personally;
- persons liable for military service will be able to choose vacant positions in selected military units, including those in their speciality;
- the risk of citizens being drafted through the MCC and JV to undesirable military units is removed.
It is worth noting that a little earlier, the General Staff stated that only those units that the command has identified as priorities can be guaranteed to receive volunteers through the recruitment system.
