For the information marathon “United News #UAtogether” and “FREEDOM”, services for the creation and distribution of programmes were purchased for more than UAH 30 million. The customer was the state-owned Multimedia Broadcasting Platform of Ukraine, and the winner of the tender was the Inter TV channel, Kommersant Ukrainian reports.
The first public tender for UAH 25 million was held in late May. According to the documents published on Prozorro, Inter is to provide 257 hours of live and round-the-clock news programmes for the United News #UAt once in more than six months (from the end of May to the end of December this year). One hour of such service costs over UAH 97 thousand.
The second public procurement for the production of programmes for the information marathon “FREEDOM” cost almost UAH 7 million for 97 hours of work. Inter will also provide services for FREEDOM.
PJSC Inter TV Channel is owned by Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash, who has been under National Security and Defence Council sanctions since 2021. Despite this, the channel itself participates in the United News telethon and creates content for other TV channels.
According to Opendatabot, during the full-scale invasion, TV Channel Inter held 8 tenders with the State Enterprise Multimedia Broadcasting Platform of Ukraine and the State Enterprise Protection of the Information Space of Ukraine and received more than UAH 400 million in budget funds.
By the way, the staff of the “United News” telethon received a reservation from the mobilisation. However, the State Department believes that the telethon violates human rights in Ukraine.
